Before diving into the visualizations, I'd like to point out that this has been a great opportunity to learn about the different types of visualization, how we percieve them, and how a single dataset can be conveyed with various storylines. The high level objective behind this specific project is to utilize data from the San Francisco Fire Department to create visualizations and reveal trends, statistics, and insights. The theme behind it is that the number of call types for a category relates to the reduction in the average response time for that call type.
TLDR; the
San Francisco Fire Department has increased their efficiency on the most common
calls they receive.
In case you're interested in further exploring the dataset, I will be visualizing the average response time for the most common calls in the
four most well known neighborhoods in San Francisco. Hope you find this as interesting as I have. Lots of insights were gathered, and I'm sure that this will help shed some light on the current truths of not only the SF Fire Dept., but also the reality of who and what we prioratize it's safety.
